Afternoon tea with Zoe Wanamaker

I met up with stage and screen actress Zoe Wanamaker for a couple of lovely hours at the Charlotte Street hotel, tea and refreshments were served and a great deal of chat and gossip was exchanged.

Lost and Found, on Tower Bridge.

Working under the name Lost and Found Design, Becky Oldfield marries the traditional with the contemporary to create original but evocative range of stylish Interior products.

We had a great hour or two hanging her fanatsic collection of bunting and vintage union flags to create a patriotic cornucopia for Selvedge magazine.

In the Studio of The Stone carver

I went to visit Sculptor and Letter Carver Jo Sweeting in her fabulous shed/workshop at the bottom of her garden earlier in the year.

It felt like I was stepping back in time to the days of Barbara Hepworth or Henry Moore.

Her house in Brighton is part of the Fiveways artists trail in this year Artist Open Houses, I would recommend a visit.

Eloise Grey, a new portrait, a new background!

Last month I went to make a new portrait of fashion designer Eloise Grey.
I had won a canvas background on e-bay after frantic bidding and thought it would work well for this image, so proceeded to set it up in the woodland near her home.
Out came lampshades, armchairs and rugs and a decent pot of tea from her house, it was a very pleasant morning’s work!
